Spengler Cup: All set for semi finals

Wolfsburg surprisingly sends Team Canada out of the classic tournament.
The classic tournament Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland has reached the semi finals. In the semi finals the home team Davos will play the Czech club Vitkovice while Latvian Dinamo Riga will play the German side Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg was a surprise in the semi finals. After losing 1-3 to Riga and 0-6 to Kloten in the group phase Wolfsburg played Canada in the quarter final and surprisingly won 3-2 after penalty shootout. Two power play goals byLaliberte and Fischer took the game to overtime for the Germans. In the shootout Kai Hospelt was the hero with two goals.
In the other quarter final Vitkovice also a bit surprisingly defeated Kloten 5-1. Kana scored the two first goals when Vitkovice went up to 5-0 before a late Kloten goal.
That means that both semi finals will be rematches from the group stage. Davos won 2-1 against Vitkovice in the group stage but just as Wolfsburg Vitkovice now has the chance of a revenge.
On the indiviual level Riga's Roberts Bukarts is the top scorer with 6 points so far.
The semi finals is played today at 15:00 and 20:15.
