Latvians dominate with a 12–1 victory, Daugaviņš shines, and Akureyri edges Narva in overtime to close group play.
The final day of action opened with a consolation win for Akureyri, who topped Narva in a spirited yet low-stakes matchup between two winless sides. The Icelanders claimed their first victory of the group in overtime, as national team forward Johann Leifsson buried the game-winner to secure a 5–4 triumph after an entertaining see-saw battle in regulation.
The spotlight then shifted to the winner-takes-all clash for a semifinal berth in Angers (November), with Hockey Punks and Mogo renewing their rivalry just a week after meeting in the Baltic League—a game that ended 5–2 for the Latvians. Any hopes of a tighter contest this time quickly vanished.
Mogo exploded out of the gate, overwhelming the hosts with six unanswered goals in the opening period. Kaspars Daugaviņš, the marquee signing and former NHLer, netted his first two tallies of the tournament as the Latvians put on an offensive clinic.
From there, it was smooth sailing. The Punks got on the board in the second frame with a Dino Mukovoz deflection, but Kristers Ansons immediately restored Mogo’s dominance. The final period was a showcase of pure firepower, as Mogo piled on four more goals to complete a 12–1 demolition.

The result capped off a spectacular weekend for the Latvian powerhouse, which finished group play with an astounding 32 goals in three games—a statement of intent that drew warm applause from the appreciative Vilnius crowd.
With a core of seasoned veterans who have played together for years, now bolstered by a world-class addition like Daugaviņš, Mogo will head to Angers in November as a team no one will want to face.
