Five goals in the first lead Brynäs to a big win against Skellefteå but Skellefteå still tops the standings in style. HV71 takes an important win with two new players and one more on it's way.

Skellefteå still leads SHL seven points ahead of Luleå (but Luleå has two games less played) even after a disastorous game against Brynäs. Brynäs scored on everything in the first period scoring five goals on seven shots. Skellefteå came back from 1-5 to 3-5 but Brynäs went away to 3-7 again. The win made Brynäs go from eighth fo fifth ín a table that is very close in the middle.

In second placed Luleå Linus Klasen is perhaps the player with the best form in the league right now. He is second in scoring after Linköping's Pär Arlbrandt with 23 points, Arlbrandt has 26. Despite the top scorer Linköping is only sixth, the defense isn't as good as the offense. Seventh placed MODO and Leksand has the same points as Linköping.

Frölunda and Växjö both improved after bad starts and are now third and fourth. In the other direction Örebro has gone, the newcomers had a great start but are now down in ninth.

In the bottom HV71 has had a very bad start and are still last with only 14 points but at least they won today 5-3 away to Färjestad. HV71 has signed three new players in a try to improve. Finns Toni Rajala and Anssi Salmela both played today and Eric Christensen is on the way in from Lev Praha. Salmela first played eight games with MODO on a short time contract after leaving KHL. MODO wanted to keep him but HV71 paid better and Salmela decided the join the last placed team.

The win took HV71 only two points behind Färjestad and AIK. Färjestad just as HV71 a big disappointment. GM Jörgen Jönsson left the club of personal reasons as the pressure from the job had negative effects on his personal life. AIK is more expected to be at the bottom and now they have problems as they top scorer Björn Melin is out for about a month with a hand injury.
