Dynamo Moscow gets KHL lead back

The favourites showed a superb middle period that earned them an easy win in Riga.
The hosts Dinamo Riga, last in Bobrov Division, kept the match very open against their significantly better positioned division neighbours Dynamo Moscow in the first and third period. In the second period though the guests were clearly dominating and went away with a three-goal lead after strikes by Ilya Gorokhov, Denis Kokarev and Dmitry Pestunov. In the last 20 minutes the home side tried to find back into the match but Mathieu Carle only could score the consolidation goal for them at 50:42 when his shot from the blue line found the way into the net. One of his team mates was standing very close to the goalie area and so the video review came into play - but the referees let their original decision stand. In the remaining minutes Dynamo Moscow defended clever and the hosts didn't believe themselves anymore to come closer, so that their goalie Tellqvist stayed between the posts till the final whistle.
Dynamo Moscow now has 64 points after 30 games and they are not only the leaders of Bobrov Division and Western Conference ahead of SKA St. Petersburg (61 points) but also of the whole KHL table. Dinamo Riga stays last in Bobrov Division with 29 points in 30 games.
