Sweden took the lead in a tight game, but Russia came back and won 3-2.

Sweden took to the ice at Bolshoy Ice Dome in Sochi with their most recent game against Russia being a 5-2 loss at the Karjala Tournament. Russia came out strong but Sweden stood up physically and forechecked very well. Sweden had the best scoring opportunities in the first period when T.Wandell steered a puck in the bar behind Yeryomenko.

T.Wandell also made the first goal for Sweden just a few minutes later in powerplay.  It took Russia only four minutes to equalize when M.Paulsson loose the puck on offensive blue and Russia gets a 2vs1 situation and M.Chudinov scores 1-1.

In third period Russia got an early ahead goal when Chudinov scores his 2nd goal. Sweden bounced back and 2-2 puck came 12:56 into the third through N.Burström

But with 2 min and 11 sec left of the game Nikolai Prokhorkin scored the winning goal.

Sweden took the keeper and played 6vs5 but couldn’t score. Russia was the better team today but Sweden showed that they are to count with.

Sweden's head coach Pär Mårts after the game: "This was the third game against Russia this season and this was our best one."
