The Elitserien final series started today in Skellefteå and one goal was enough for the home team to win round one against Luleå.

The Elitserien finals is a battle between two teams from northern Sweden. Skellefteå won the regular season standings and earns an extra home game against Luleå who finished third.

This game was still scoreless after three periods. Skellefteå's goalie Joacim Eriksson had made 18 saves while Johan Gustafsson on the other end of the ice had made 39.

In the overtime period Skellefteå fired another six shots and at 68:30 Bud Holloway, the top scorer of the regular season, got the game winning goal.

The Luleå players were furious after the goal since they thought that Pierre-Edouard Bellemare should have gotten a penalty just before the goal for tripping a Luleå player.

Game two is played in Luleå tomorrow.
