Davos and Dinamo Riga won the semi finals in the Spengler Cup and will play in the final on New Year's Eve.
The home team Davos defeated HC Vitkovice Steel in the first semi final. Vitkovice had a 2-1 lead in the beginning of the second period but less than a minute after Vitkovice's leading goal Taticek tied the game for Davos.
Halfway through the game the sniper Pavel Brendl gave Davos the lead 3-2 and in the last minute Davos made it 4-2 on the empty net in front of 6,500 pleased home fans.
In the other semi final Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg took the lead by Benedikt Kohl with a hard shot from the blueline. Bicevskis tied the game for the Latvian but it was two goals by Martins Karsums in the second period that decided the game. At first he scored on the power play and just two minutes later he scored shorthanded, both times neatly assisted by Lucenius.
Jamie Lundmark made it 4-1 on the empty net to seal a solid Riga victory and take the Latvian side to the final against Davos.
The final is played at 12:00 on New Year's Eve.
