Division 1B of the World Championship program started yesterday in Tallinn, Estonia.Poland, Japan and Romania were the winners on day 1.
Poland, relegated from 1A and Netherlands, promoted from 2A. Netherlands without a bunch of players playing the Oberliga finals with Tilburg Trappers. Could only end one way? Yes, it did. Poland won the game 8-1. Netherlands however started great and took the lead at 13:06 on a goal by Ernesto Klem. Bartlomiej Neupauer tied it a few minutes later and Poland scored another two goals in the second period. In the third period Netherlands couldn't keep up with the opponents and Poland added another five goals to win the game 8-1. Bartlomiej Neupauer and Filip Komorski scored two goals each.
Japan beat Ukraine 3-2 with goals from Yushiroh Hirano, Hiroto Sato and Tetsuya Saito. Ukraine got to play almost 11 minutes on the powerplay but failed to take advantage of that.
Romania ruined the party for hosting Estonia, beating them 4-3 after a shootout where Szilard Rokaly got the winner.
