Individual awards at 2015 Worlds
Jaromír Jágr is recognized as the tournament`s Most Valuable Player. In the Media All Star lineup there are three Canadians, and by one of each USA, Czech Republic and Sweden.
Jágr is MVP
Surprisingly, the oldest player of the championship is voted to be the most valuable one. Actually, if taking into consideration context of the tournament, it is anything, but surprise.
As an individual player, in age of 43, among all skaters Jaromír Jágr really was of the most value to his team - Czech Republic - during whole tournament.
On the other hand, it is a surprise none of players in the best hockey age could not find a way to be more expressible than Jágr. It is a challenge called by this Kladno-native veteran to all youngsters at the same time.
"I hope it is still coming," Jágr`s answer on a question what has been the best moment of his career demonstrates what a zest for hockey still controls his steps.
Media All-Star Team
In the ideal line-up, according media personnel there should be included Connor Hellebuyck, USA starting goalie who presented with the best stats both in %SVS and goal-avg, while facing the most shots against among all goalies.
Then a defenceman of Team Sweden Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who tops the scoreboard of defenders, achieving 12 points for two goals and ten assists. Interestingely, regardless Ekman-Larsson`s Sweden was relegated in quarterfinals so he played to games less than participants of semifinals, he has ranked the sixth place in the scoring-leaders table of all skaters.
Missing just one assistance on Ekman-Larsson stays Canada`s most productivide defenceman, Brett Burns who is the second defender in the Media All-Star Team.
An ideal attacking force should be consisted of number one and three in the overal scoring-leaders ranking, Jason Spezza and Taylor Hall - both Canadians, completed by the tournament`s MVP, a living legend from the Czech Republic, Jaromír Jágr.
Individual Awards
Directorate of the tournament names one player of each post to be either the best goaltender, defender or forward.
From the 2015 IIHF World Championships, it is Pekka Rinne who earns the reward for the best goalie. A key objective for the directorate to choose Rinne would definitely be this Finnish goaltender set up the new maximum in the shutout-streak.
Both awards for the best denfensive and offensive players goes to Team Canada. From their roster, Brent Burns is chosen as the best defender and Jason Spezza the best striker.
