Amsterdam G's won't take part in the Eredivisie next season. It's still unclear if team will compete in Eerste Division.
The Board of Amsterdam G's decided that the club won't participate in next Dutch Eredivisie because in short term, there are no prospect of a break even budget for the 2013-2014 season, so it is not possible to go further with the necessary obligations. This brings an end to the comeback of Amsterdam at the highest level after two years. First, under the name Amsterdam Capitals, one year later as the Amsterdam G's when the team was saved after a public fundraising campaign. This season G's finished last in Eredivisie with just 2 victories in 36 games. A consultation with the Board of amateur team Amstel Tigers will look at the possibility to register a team in the Eerste Division, the Dutch second division.The board behind the G's will use next year to try to grow for a return to the highest level. Amsterdam's quit drop back the number of Eredivisie partecipants to seven. Earlier 2011-12 champion Geleen decided to continue at the highest level despite financial problems, while Dordrecht announced club wants apply to compete in Eredivisie. Champion The Hague, Eindhoven, Heerenveen, Tilburg and Belgian Herentals and are the other partecipants.
