Elitserien game abandoned due to injury

Oscar Sundh of HV71 suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital unconscious during the third period of the Elitserien game Luleå-HV71. The referee Sören Persson decided to abandon the game at the score 1-1.

 
 
 
 
Luleå - HV71
The game between Luleå and HV71 was not finished after a bad injury on HV71's Oscar Sundh. After a duel (no foul) with an opponent Sundh's head hit the plexi glass and the ice hard and Sundh was unconscious for a long time and the teams and referees agreed not to finish the game. Later it was reported from hospital that Sundh woke up on hospital and that he was stable but had suffered a concussion. The score was 1-1 when the game was canceled.


Timrå - Frölunda 1-3

After two goals that bounced in off an opponent the score was 1-1 at the beginning of the third period. Timrå created many great chances but for a winning goal but bad finishes made it easy for Julius Hudacek to save. Instead Fabian Brunnström scored the game winner with a soft backhand shot that barely crossed the goal line after a mistake by Bellissimo in goal. Anton Axelsson scored his second of the game on the empty net. An important win for Frölunda that kept Timrå behind them to stay over the playoff line.


AIK - MODO 0-4

After today's loss AIK is now at the bottom of the Elitserien standings. MODO took the lead in the last minute of the first period when Kyle Cumiskey beat Niklas Lundström in the net. Ludvig Byström and Mario Kempe (penalty shot) scored in the second period and Dave Spina in the third to give MODO the 4-0 win. MODO's Austrian goalie made 23 saves for the shut-out.


Växjö - Färjestad 2-1 (SO)

Växjö won two important points and moved from the last to the 10th place in the table. Steve Saviano saved the Lakers with a goal on the last shot in the shoot-out. In the middle of period three Växjö got the lead when Petr Vampola scored, but only 90 seconds later Färjestad's Rickard Wallin tied it.


Skellefteå - Linköping 4-1

Skellefteå scored three power play goals when Linköping was beaten 4-1. Just 19 seconds before the end of period one Oscar Möller scored 1-0 for Skellefteå. In the second period Linköping out-shot Skellefteå 15-5, but the home team got the only goal when Niclas Burström made it 2-0. Robin Figren brought Linköping hope at 47:27 when he scored 2-1 but Tomas Skogs and Melker Karlsson got the home team another two goals.

Brynäs - Rögle 4-3

Rögle got a great start of the game and had a 2-0 lead after twenty minutes after goals by Mike Iggulden and Jakob Johansson. The score changed in the second period which Brynäs won 3-0. Elias Lindholm, Emil Molin and Ryan Gunderson scored the goals. At a minute of the last period Daniel Sondell tied it for Rögle, but with a power play goal at 53:43 Calle Järnkrok got Brynäs the 4-3 win.
