Finnish goalie Pekka Rinne earned three shutouts and saved 220 shots. That earned him the MVP award.
Pekka Rinne dominated in the net this tournament, until the final against Russia in which he allowed five goals. He led the championship in shutouts and saves. Thanks to that the accredited media named him Most Valuable Player.
Another goalie, Russia's Sergei Bobrovski was named best goalkeeper by the tournament directorate. Seth Jones of USA was named best defenseman and the top scorer Viktor Tikhonov was named best forward.
The forward Antoine Roussel was the first French player ever to be selected to the World Championship All-Star Team.
