Guildford Flames only led for 2:49 over 120 minutes of their Premier Sports Playoffs Quarter-Final against Nottingham Panthers, but that was enough to book their place in the Playoff Finals Weekend.
Having tied 4-4 the night before, Nottingham again went into the lead with Christophe Boivin capitalising on a turnover and beating Kevin Lindskoug with just over five minutes played. Levi Cable levelled on a bouncing puck in front of Kevin Carr's net at 7:58 to bring the score to 5-5 on aggregate.
The Panthers were back ahead at 28:20 off a nice passing play finished at the top of the crease by Jeremy Welsh and that was a lead that the home side held into the final stages of the game.
For the sixth time on the weekend, Guildford then tied things up - Jamal Watson's shot from the point was tipped in front by Turner Ripplinger to level the scores with 4:29 to play.
The drama wasn't done there, either. A throw on net from Watson was blocked en route but the puck fell kindly for Cable to beat Carr short side and put the Flames ahead with 57:11 on the clock.
Nottingham pulled Carr for the extra skated and threw everything at the Flames' net, but the visitors held out to celebrate reaching their second Playoff Finals Weekend with a 7-6 aggregate win!
