An already shortbenched Steelers side lost Brendan Connolly midway through the game but absorbed the pressure from the Danes to come out as 3-1 winners.
The scoring was opened minutes from the end of period one as ANTHONY DELUCA shot home a shot from the point. Try as they might Aalborg could not score until Alexei KUDRYAVTSEV levelled things up. However a breakway, after a turnover, saw Sointu slide a pas acros to MARTIN LATAL to bury it past Sorensen to put Steelers back in the lead.
