Lokomotiv Yaroslavl got a great start of the playoffs when Dinamo Minsk was defeated 7-4. Lokomotiv had a 5-1 lead early in the second period but 3 Minsk goals in a row made the third period interesting. Alexander Kalyanin and Josef Vasicek closed t he game with a goal each in the final minutes.
