The European Trophy playoffs - Red Bulls Salute - will be played in Salzburg December 16-18 and for next season more teams will join the tournament.

 
 
 
 
The pre-season tournament European Trophy will expand from 24 to 32 teams for next season when for example a few Swiss teams plan to join.

For the 2011 playoffs eight teams are qualified; three from Czech Republic, three from Sweden, one from Finland and one from Austria - the host Red Bulls Salzburg.

According to the European Trophy site the games are going to be broadcasted live on TV according to this schedule:

Quarterfinal 1 5:15pm Frölunda Indians – Linköpings HC
Quarterfinal 2 8:30pm HC CSOB Pojištovna Pardubice – EC Red Bull Salzburg
Quarterfinal 3 5:15pm Jokerit - HC Mountfield Ceské Budejovice
Quarterfinal 4 8:30pm HC Plzen 1929 – Luleå Hockey
