In Continental Cup Second Round, Metalurgs completed campaign destroying Sport Club, while DAB Docler delighted fans grabbing a miraculous qualification

Continental Cup Second Round has a thrilling final in Group B in Hungary: before the last round 3 teams had chance to advance at semifinals: Dutch HYS The Hague needed to score a lot of goals against already eliminated CH Jaca. Mission accomplished: Hague won 11-1, fix its goal difference and waiting for final match between host Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak and underdog
White Caps Turnhout. Belgian had perfect record after surprising victory against HYS; Dunaujvaros needs almost a miracle to advance: a victory and optimum goal difference. Fans believe in miracles and crowded arena, Hungarian play the perfect match and annihilate White Caps hopes: at 51:32 it's 9-1 Dunaujvaros but in last minutes Belgian scored three times narrowing the gap. When Valerijs Filimonovs scores 4th Turnhout goal at 59:45 for final 4-9, just one goal difference keep host qualified. After last nailbiting 15 seconds celebration can start on ice.
Next stop for Dunaujvaros will be Denmark to face host team Herning Blue Fox, Italian champion HC Asiago and Great Britain’s Sheffield Steelers in mid November.
In Group C Latvian Metalurgs Liepaja can complete an almost perfect record - Latvian won first game at SO - facing the host Sport Club, while in the afternoon game Kazakh Beybarys Atyrau hammered 13-3 young and inexperienced Olimpija Ljubljana. Beybarys victory means the end of Sport Club hopes to repeat brilliant last season campaign in Continental Cup, when Romanian team landed in Semifinals. Despite huge fans' support, demotivation and a strong opponent made the last game a jouney to triumph for Metalurgs: three unanswered goals in first team decided the result, completed by other three in last stanza, for final 6-0. Now Metalurgs will fly to Donetsk, Ukraine, for a tough semifinals group with Donbass Donetsk, Rubin Tyumen (Russia) and Cracovia Krakow (Poland).
