In the decisive match to avoid relegation, Netherlands overcomes the direct rivals

After two seasons in Division 1 Serbia leaves the third tier of hockey to return to Division 2.

The Serbs had started the tournament well, losing only in the SO against Estonia and then engaging Japan until the third period.

But the great difficulty in finishing the game and scoring was the team's biggest limitation. The Netherlands, in their first year in Division 1, found a great and unexpected victory against China, which put Oranje in an ideal position, reaching the last game, after the severe lesson against Ukraine, with the possibility that don't necessarily have to win. During the match the Dutch took the lead twice, with a clear mistake by goalkeeper Rankovic in the second goal, forcing the opponents to play aggressively, a style the Serbians did not show throughout the tournament.

In fact, in the third period, despite controlling the game, the Serbs only managed to shoot on goal 7 times. The 2-2 draw came after a mistake by the Dutch defence. The game then ended in overtime with the victory , a result that became useless for the table
