Serbian hockey federation became a member of the IIHF in 1939 as it's recognized predecessor Kingdom Yugoslavia. Independently Serbian hockey federation joined in 2007 after Serbia & Montenegro disbanded. Their biggest success under the Serbian banner came at div. II group a world championship in Novi Sad when they were promoted to Div I for the first time.
