World Cup of Hockey hasn't been played since 2004 and last team to win the Cup is Canada. Now as the prestigious tournament is back, there's no questions about it being filled with star players.
Despite all the stars, team Russia lost the 2015 World Championship Final against Team Canada. But it wasn't the game itself the talk afterwards was dealt with. Team Russia have since the early 80s´, been one of the biggest and strongest nations in the world of hockey.
Players such as Makarov, Larionov, Tretjak, Fetisov, Kasatonov and Krutov looked as they were from another planet, when they played. Then something happened and the rest of the hockeyworld was catching up. Today, Team Russia have players such as Malkin, Ovechkin and Datsyuk who will carry the legacy onwards. But Russia is a great hockeynation and it seems that it doesn't matter what team Russia put on the ice, they're dangerous.
Team Russias' projected players for 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto will be and as always, is just preliminary.
