Still hope for NHLers in Sochi
After two days of meeting nothing is yet decided but still hope for NHL players in the 2014 Olympics.
After a meeting in New York between the IIHF, NHL and the IOC there is still nothing decided about participating of NHL players in the Olympic Ice Hockey Tournament in Sochi 2014. But the meeting was positive and all parts seem positive to find a solution.
"I think it is fair to say that if this can be worked out to everybody's satisfaction, we'd all like to have NHL players at the Olympics," NHL's Gary Bettman said to AP.
According to the IIHF twitter feed the IIHF president René Fasel said "Meetings were held in a very constructive and positive atmosphere. All parties put all their concerns and issues on the table. Now all parties are going back to work on details in order to put together an agreement. Still lot of work to be done. There is no deadline, but obviously we are under a certain time pressure. Olympics one year from now. I remain confident".
