Germany even had the lead after two periods as their super star Tobias Rieder scored the first goal of the game on a five on three power play in the second period after a nice set up by Draisatl and Kahun. Germany's only fourth goal in four games.
Slovakia tied the game 4:02 inot the therd when Bruno Mraz scored high on Cüpper who made 40 saves in the game.
Slovakia now will have a chance to reach the quarter finals if they beat USA, otherwise they will end up in the relegation round together with Germany. For Germany the game against Latvia in the relegation round is likely to be decisive if they can stay in the top group for another year or not.
