Ovechkin hattrick for Dynamo in away win

Donbass Donetsk lost at home for the first time after seven consecutive wins in their own arena. Already at 03:30 did lockout star Alexander Ovechkin score the lead for the guests Dynamo Moscow when he uses his own rebound to score via back hander from a short distance. At the end of the period he doubled the Dynamo lead in power play before team colleague Janne Jalasvaara even made it 0-3 shorthanded before the first intermission. In the middle period Donbass found back into the game and cut the lead for the first time through Tuomas Kiiskinen. At 45:06 they even scored another one when Evgeny Dadonov was successful with a shorthander. When the guests risked everything by pulling out their goalie Laco for an additional attacker, Alexander Ovechkin was there for the empty netter and completed his hattrick.

Dynamo Moscow now has 67 points and earned a six-point advantage towards the second-placed in the KHL table. Donbass Donetsk stays four points behind the playoff spots.
