Easy debut in Kyiv for Ukraine and Poland

As expected, favourites Poland and Ukraine opened Olympic Qualification Tournament in Kyiv with easy victories against Estonia and Spain. Poles crushed 8-0 Estonia arriving in Kyiv with an incomplete roster without all the best players. Polish goalie Przemyslaw Odrobny made jus 9 saves while his colleague Henrik Koitmaa managed to save 55 shot but conceding 8 goals. Best player Krystian Dziubinski and veteran Leszek Laszkiewicz scored twice, the other goals come from Marcin Kolusz, Mateusz Rompkowski, Mikolaj Lopuski and Jerzy Gabrys.

At night Ukraine - that finalized roster just few hours before the match adding Donbas' Vitaly Donica and star Alexei Ponikarovsky, uncertain because recovering from an injury - hammered 7-0 the young Spanish roster in front of more then 5.000 spectators, scoring with seven different players, including superstar Ruslan Fedotenko, awarded as best player, and same Ponikarovsky. Tomorrow Poland and Ukraine switched opponents and we can expect another one-way games
