Cologne with a much better performance than in game 1 but again with a loss against the regular season champions.
Kölner Haie - Eisbären Berlin 2:4After their heavy 1-5 away loss in game 1, the Kölner Haie had a much better performance at home but again it was Berlin that won the match. After a goalless first period, the guests from the German capital did only need 21 seconds until TJ Mulock made a power play goal to get his colours in front. In the following five minutes the Polar Bears added another two goals by Barry Tallackson and Darin Olver to get a comfortable three-goal lead. Still the Sharks from Cologne did their best to get back into the match and really they cut the lead to just one within 55 seconds of the 32th and 33th minute when Tino Boos and Felix Schütz were succesful with their shots. Then the Sharks were more than unlucky when Danish international Mads Christensen made it 2-4 just one second before the end of the middle period. After this shock the hosts never found a way to get closer again despite outshoting the opponent 15 to 4 in the last 20 minutes.
