MoDo - Skellefteå 0-4

Bud Holloway scored two goals when Skellefteå blanked MoDo on away ice to move on to a 2-0 lead in the best of seven quarter final series. That was Skellefteå's seventh consecutive win against MoDo this year. And MoDo now needs to win at least two games in Skellefteå to win the series. Holloway scored his first goal halfway through the first period. MoDo's Ole-Kristian Tollefsen was penalized for puck out in the first minute of the second period and Christian Söderström made it 2-0 to the guests on the power play. Holloway practically closed the game with 3-0 late in the third. In a last desperate attempt to turn things around MoDo pulled the goalie with over four minutes left. They had some good chances but Joacim Eriksson was good in goal for Skellefteå and made 29 saves for the shutout. Instead Erik Forsell scored on the empty net to make the final score 4-0.

AIK - Luleå 4-2

AIK tied the series at one after beating Luleå 4-2 at home ice. Luleå took the lead in the first period when Toni Koivisto scored a power play goal at 9:00. Luleå is usually very good at closing games when they have the lead but they were unusually weak in the second when AIK scored three unanswered goals. Christian Sandberg, Oscar Ahlström and Daniel Rudslätt scored for AIK when the usual top scorers Rosén and Gynge left the ice without scoring. Chris Abbott was given a match penalty for checking from behind with 10 seconds left of the second period and after killing the five minute box play Luleå just didn't have the energy to come back. Instead Jonas Liwing made it 4-1 before Sebastian Enterfeldt scored a consulation goal for Luleå in the last minute.
