Goal by a goalie in Slovak Tipsport extraliga
07 Dec 2011 | Lukas Gonda
In yesterday's game between HC Kosice and HK Nitra away goalie Marek Cilliak scored a goal.
It all happened at 15 minutes and 11 seconds in Steel Arena. The audience stood for a moment. After Patrik Valcak's foul the referee signalized a delayed penalty for the away team. Home goalie Jaroslav Hylak left the goal and all HC Kosice players moved into the opponent's zone. Since they controlled the puck, the referee didn't interrupt the game. After Michal Seda's shot from the side, Marek Cilliak knocked out the puck to the middle zone where it bounce from the side cushion and ended up in the abandoned HC Kosice net. At the moment, thanks to the exclusive goal, Nitra equalized to 1:1. But even the goalie's goal didn't help them because at the end they lost the game 3:6. "That was the first goal of my career" smiled a happy Marek Cilliak after the match.
