The former Pan-American Tournament will host the international debut for Jamaica and Puerto Rico in September

For the second consecutive year the Latam Cup will be played at the Ice Den of Coral Spring, Florida under the organization of Amerigol International Hockey Association. The tournament is the successor of the tournament created in 2014 as Pan American Tournament, sanctioned by IIHF in the 2015 and 2016 edition and hosted by the Mexican Hockey Federation. After a hiatus in 2017, the tournament returned as an indipendent competition in Florida. After the first competition won by Canada - the only edition in which the USA and Canada participated - the tournament has Colombia as the major champion, with triumphs in 2014, 2015 and 2018. Mexico won in 2017, in the last edition organized in Mexico City. From 2019 edition, Latam Cup gains the partnership of Warrior Hockey, committed to help grow hockey in Latin America and the Caribbean

The 2019 edition will see the international debut of Jamaica, since 2012 an associate member of the IIHF, but that has never participated in any international competition, and Puerto Rico, where hockey is organized since 2004.

Eight national teams plus a team called "Rest of the World" will take part in the Latam Cup 2019, with a Division 1 alligning current champion Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Jamaica in Group A and Mexico, Chile and Venezuela in Group B. After a round robin teams will play quarterfinals according to the placement. Six teams will play in Division 2: Mexico B, Brazil B and Rest of the World in group A, Argentina B, Colombia B and Puerto Rico in group B. Also the women tournament is back after the last edition in 2017, with 4 teams - Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico - battling for the title
