Yunost Minsk joins VHL

Belarusian club was admitted after an 18 hours meeting

 
 
 
 
After 18 hours of meeting the VHL Board of Members voted unanimously for the admission of Yunost Minsk in next VHL, even if team's apply was submitted after the deadline.
Also Belarusian club confirmed the assurance of its participation in the upcoming league. In mid-June a VHL Commmission visited Minsk and the infrastructure of a potential newcomer. In the first months of the league Yunost will play in its traditional Yunost Ice Palace, with a capacity of 2000 spectators, then team will move in the new Chizhovka Arena, whose construction is coming to the final stage, with 8000 spectators capacity, built for 2014 IHWC.
Yunost General Director Sergei Solonets made a brief statement: "Yunost won't sign imports, Belarusian players will be the basis of the team. The tasks in the first season? We have a normal task - is always to win. But our priority will be allign Belarusian ice hockey players and prepare them for the national team."
In the same meeting Valery Fesyuk was re-elected as VHL executive director and a new regulation was voted and will be published, along with league calendar, in the near future
