For our monthly vote for the most outstandning player in European hockey we this time have 8 candidates: Eero Kilpeläinen, Roman Cervenka, Matt Zaba, Martin Strandfeldt, Jakub Stepanek, Andrei Spiridonov, Rob Ricci and Jakob Silfverberg.

 
 
 
 
Our visitors have nominated these eight candidates for our monthly award European Player of the Month. There are three goalies, one defenseman and four forwards named.

Now it is up to you to decide the winner in our Facebook vote.

Eero Kilpeläinen (G), Jokerit
The Finnish goalie had a great start of the SM-Liiga playoffs. Four wins in as many games. Only 4 allowed goals when Jokerit (6) surprisingly easy beat HIFK (3) 4-0 in the SM-Liiga quarter finals.

Roman Cervenka (F), Avangard Omsk
In 11 playoffs games Cervenka earned 17 (9+8) points. In the series against Amur he scored in every game and two of his shots became GWG. In the series against Metallurg Mg he made two doubles, in game 4 which decided the series he added two assists to a double. In the conference final series against Traktor Cervenka made two assists, the last of them lead to an overtime goal in game 2.

Matt Zaba (G), Bolzano
The Bolzano Foxes goalie Matt Zaba earned 4 shut-outs in 8 playoffs games and saved .967% of the shots. This makes Zaba one of the key players in Bolzano's playoffs campaign.

Martin Strandfeldt (F), Stavanger Oilers
Strandfeldt has scored 13 goals and 9 assists in the Norwegian playoffs to lead his team to the finals and to lead the playoffs in scoring.

Jakub Stepanek (G), SKA St. Petersburg
Jakub Stepanek played 11 playoff games in March. 7 wins, 3 of them were shutouts.

Andrei Spiridonov (D), Metallurg Zhlobin

The Russian defenseman recorded 3 goals and 9 assists and a playoffs leading +7 rating when his team won the Belarusian Championship.

Rob Ricci (F), Odense

Ricci has scored playoffs leading 9 goals and 6 assists when Odense has won 8 straight games in the Danish quarter and semi finals.

Jakob Silfverberg (F), Brynäs
Silfverberg leads the Swedish playoffs in scoring with 7 goals and 5 assists in 10 games. He has scored points in 7 games. Brynäs has won all of those.
