Linköping's Sebastian Karlsson has been suspended over 1 month for a tackle against the head of Frölunda's Magnus Kahnberg.

There has been a number of long suspensions for tackles against the head of opponents in Elitserien this year. There has been a big debate around the danger of these tackles and the injuries that can occur. Now the longest suspension so far has been handed out. Sebastian Karlsson has been suspended from November 7 to December 20 which equals 11 games after a very dangerous blind side tackle on Frölunda's Magnus Kahnberg.

The tackle can be viewed on Youtube. Kahnberg was lying on the ice after the tackle but didn't suffer any serious injury other than a concussion and a few lost teeth. He will however probably be forced to a quite long rest from hockey.

At the same time two other suspensions were announced Sanny Lindström and Nicklas Danielsson were both suspended 2 games and fined for tackle to the heads. Danielsson's tackle was also against Frölunda. Joel Lundqvist broke his jaw from that tackle and Frölunda now has two key players injured.
