Spengler Cup schedule is ready

For the second consecutive year, the world's oldest hockey tournament will align six teams into two divisions.

 
 
 
 
The organizing committee announced the schedule of this year's Spengler Cup, which will be played as usual from 26 to 31 December in Davos, Switzerland at Vaillant Arena. Basically the format is the same used in last year's edition. The two Swiss teams, the Kloten Flyers and host Hockey Club Davos, are each placed in different groups.

Group Torriani: Kloten Flyers, Dinamo Riga (KHL), Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg (DEL)

Group Cattini: HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Vitkovice Steel (Czech Extraliga)

The Torriani Group always plays its matches at 15:00, while the Cattini Group's games start at 20:15
The semifinal pairs are scheduled for Friday, December 30: the winner of each group will face other group's runner up. The winner of the Spengler Cup wil be decided on December 31 at 12.00

Annually played since 1923, the Spengler Cup is often cited as the oldest invitational ice hockey tournament in the world. Russian club SKA St Petersburg are the current Spengler Cup champions.
