With Champions Hockey League closing in, Eurohockey is presenting the eight teams from SHL that will participate in this this years competition. Reigning champions are Luleå HF. This is Linköpings HC.
Linköping HC seems to be one of the top contenders in SHL this year. They have lost a couple of strong players and head coach Roger Melin left the club and went back to AIK in HockeyAllsvenskan. But Linköping also gained some great players, among them Niklas Persson, Nick Sörensen, Rhett Rakhshani, Chad Billins and Garret Roe.
Linköping have played one preseason game so far and it was against Skellefteå AIK, who knocked them out in last years playoffs. It was an intensed game, in which Linköping flexed their muscles (6-1).
In CHL, Linköping will play in Group A along with SC Bern and IFK Helsingfors. It will be a tough group, but if Linköping continues to show that they are a team to be reckon with, it will take them far in the tournament.
First game for Linköping will be on Sunday August 23rd in Saab Arena, Linköping, Sweden.
