Olympic Games 2022 to China
IOC announced the 2022 Olympic host city today. Beijing, China was chosen ahead of Almaty in Kazakshtan at the 128th IOC session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The IOC members voted for the winner in a secret ballot and the Chinese capitol beat Almaty and will be the first city to host both the summer games and the winter games.
It remains to see if the Chinese hockey team will be given a free spot at the men's final tournament. China has never qualified for the men's Olympic tournament.
The Chinese women on the other hand have played all tournaments except for 2014 will the placings 4th (1998), 7th (2002), 10th (2006) and 7th (2010).
