A coaching change has just surprised the DEL. Uwe Krupp will take over the job in Berlin and try to get the dominating team of the last year to get back to the top.
Berlin has had a tough year so far. They currently sit in 8th place only and the availability of Uwe Krupp, who agreed with his former team Kölner Haie to set his contract to rest just a few days ago, made the Eisbären management react. Although Berlin managed to get three consecutive wins recently, Stefan Ustorf felt that they had reached a point where a change at the coaching position was necessary.
Uwe Krupp was dismissed in Köln after just 8 games this season in a similar situation. He is looking forward to the new challenge in Berlin and thinks that the young team has enough potential to get back into the top group of the DEL. He will coach his first game on Friday against Straubing.
