Russian 2nd League elected the best of the season
The beautiful city of Gelendzik, on the Black Sea, hosted the final event of VHL for 2013-2014 season, the individual and collective awards, determined by the League, the players and the fans.
Here the list of winners:
Sergei Magarilov (Molot-Prikamie Perm) was the star of the night, taking home two titles: Best Goalie of the season and the first edition of the Anatoly Firsov award, the trophy awarded to the MVP of the season voted by players;
Nils Backstrom (Rubin Tyumen) won the Best Defender title, mainly due to his performances in the playoffs, where he was the best scorer (6 goals + 4 assists)
Vyacheslav Ushenin (Molot-Prikamie Perm) was named Best Forward (27 points in the regular season and 15 in the playoffs)
Dmitry Mikhailov (Ariada Volzhsk) contines his rise: after the title of Top Scorer of MHL two years ago, finished his first season in VHL with the title of Rookie of the Year. He signed for KHL champion Metallurg Magnitogorsk next season
Alexander Gulyavtsev (Molot-Prikamie Perm) was named Coach of the Year
Argyn Nigmatullin (Sary Arka Karaganda) is the GM of the Year
Evgeny Gamaley.was voted as the Best Referee
