After the Espoo Blues managed to beat the top-placed team from Lahti in Overtime last night, there were some more games tonight in Liiga and the disappointed parties could finally get some points into their pockets.
In Helsinki Patrik Moisio opened the scoring and got Jokerit on the board first before Jani Rita later on doubled the lead. The guests from Hämeenlinna could only add one goal by Jere Sallinen to the scoresheet with 14 seconds left in the contest. In the standings Jokerit got even with HPK now and could move into 6th place.
In Kuopio Artturi Lehkonen played a huge role in KalPa’s first win of the season. He got the first and the last goal of the night and additionally set up team owner and NHL veteran Sami Kapanen. In the end KalPa scored 4 times against champion Ässät Pori while goalie Pekka Tuokkola celebrated his first shut-out of the year. KalPa now left HIFK and Rauma behind them.
The finalist of last year Tappara could also stay in eye-sight distance to the Play-Off spots by beating TPS Turku 4-2 at home. They decided the game in the second period when they scored 3 goals in 8 minutes. Pekka Jormakka could insure the win early in the 3rd period although TPS did not give up and managed to fight back to reach a 2-goal margin only. However, in the end Tappara hold on to its lead and is now in 8th place.
