Medvescak knocks-out Salzburg in their home arena, Znojmo humiliated by Vienna in the Czech Republic, while KAC and Linz get in front in the series.
Salzburg - Medvescak 2:5 (series tied at 2)
Prior to this series people were saying this was going to be a long series. And for sure it will! Medvescak got their revenge in Salzburg where they smashed Red Bull with 2:5, the identical result the Bulls had in Zagreb three days earlier. The hosts opened the scoring after just half of the first period had passed. Although it was a clear foul on Medvescak's Domen Vedlin, the refs didn't want to pull their hands up and Justin di Benedetto scores for Salzburg. Not long after, Roman Tomas ties the game for Medvescak. In the second period, Andy Sertich puts on a show to get the Bears into the lead. Five minutes before the second break Adam Miller is another goal scorer for Medvescak. In the 45th minute, Red Bull's Yorick Treille gets called for high sticking, Kyle Greentree takes advantage and scores with the extra man. Salzburg changes goalies, the Slovene Luka Gracnar comes in the game and Steven Regier reduces the lead. Kenneth MacAulay seals the deal with an empty-netter in the last minute.
Znojmo - Vienna 0:7 (Vienna lead the series 3-1)
The game started in Znojmo with Matthew Zaba between the pipes for the Capitals and Ondrej Kacetl started in the net for the Eagles. 63 seconds later Vienna opens the scoring, Joshua Soares and Markus Schlacher set up the puck for Marcus Olsson who gets the Caps on the board. The remainder of the period was scoreless, so we're into the first break. Five minutes into the second, Francois Fortier, the Caps' top scorer doubles the lead. By the end of the 2nd Fortier puts another one past Kacetl, and Philipp Pinter scores another one, 4:0. In the last period Jan Seda got a 10-minute misconduct for checking from behind and a minor two-minute penalty, Francois Fortier scores the hat trick on a powerplay. By the end two more goals for Vienna Justin Keller and Daniel Woger the scorers.
Villach - Linz 2:3 (Linz lead series 3-1)
Following a huge 5-0 win in Linz two days before, Linz extends their lead in the series. The hosts got the first lead through Brad Cole, but that was denied when Robert Lukas ties the game in the 12th minute. Patrick Leahy was able to score and get the champions in the lead during the second period, the play was set up by Rob Hisey and Gregor Baumgartner. By the middle of the last period, Mario Altmann got called for tripping andPatrick Leahy scores another one on the powerplay. Another goal on a powerplay came 10 minutes prior to the end, Gerhard Unterluggauer scores while Curtis Murphy was serving two minutes for slashing.
Graz - KAC 0:3 (KAC lead series 3-1)
After two periods the game was over. Thomas Koch got Klagenfurt into the lead in the 15th minute, assist came through Tyler Scofield. In the second, Raphael Herburger doubles the lead and Manuel Geier scores the game winner with 4 minutes left before the second intermission. In the last 20 minutes only penalties were served with no goals, 4 minutes for KAC and 6 minutes for the 99ers.
