Herning lost the last game of the regular season in overtime to EfB of Esbjerg, but the only point was enough to just get past Frederikshavn in the standings. Both teams ended on 84 points but Herning had five goals better goal difference and got to choose quarter final opponent first.

Eight of the nine teams of the league qualified for the quarter finals. Only Copenhagen was left out.

Herning picked Rødovre as quarter final opponent. Then Fredrikshavn took Herlev, Aalborg wanted Odense and Sønderjyske got EfB.
