Latvia and Denmark apply to host the World Championship 2017
Joint bid by Latvia and Denmark for the 2017 tournament.
"Latvia has successfully hosted the World Cup in 2006, I think it was a great experience for all the participating countries, as well as to all interested parties, such as organizers, teams, staff and guests - said Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis. - We are especially pleased to partner with the Danish Ice Hockey Federation to organize World Cup 2017. Given the experience of Latvian Hockey Federation in the organization of such events, I hope that Latvia will be entitled to re-organize the tournament in 2017.
The host country of the world championship will be named in May 2013 at the IIHF Annual Congress in Stockholm. Also Germany and France filed a joint application to host World Cup in 2017
