Only three games were played in the KHL on Thursday. Severstal, Ufa and Riga won their matches.

Salavat Yulayev Ufa had a rather easy win by defeating underdogs Vityaz Chekhov on the road with the score of 3-0. Alexander Svitov, Antti Pihlström and Oleg Saprykin scored a goal in each of the three periods for the guests to gain the full amount of points. With 24 saves Iiro Tarkki in the Ufa net earned a shutout. Ufa now is back in fighting distance with the top teams in Chernyshyov Division. Favourites Severstal Cherepovets more or less overrun their Tarasov Division rivals Spartak Moscow by outshooting them 35-16. Vadim Berdnikov and Evgeny Ketov earned a solid 2-0 lead for the hosts already until 10:39 before Nikolai Bushuyev cut the lead to the half at 16:27. At the start of the middle period Pavel Dedunov and Vadim Shipachyov added another two goals to give Severstal a 4-1 lead until 33:46. This meant also a goaltender change for Spartak and Pavel Suchkov stepped onto the ice for Alexei Yakhin. In the rest of the time Severstal defended clever and didn't risk anything anymore to grabb all three points. Dinamo Riga won the away match against their more or less direct rivals Dinamo Minsk away with the score of 3-2, making it a 2-2 record in the four games the two teams faced each other during this regular season. Oskars Cibulskis and Alexandre Giroux earned a double for Riga in the first period but after only 16 seconds in the middle period Vladimir Denisov already cut this lead to the half. At 50:39 TIm Stapleton even earned the equalizer for the Belarussian hosts before Paul Szczechura restored the guest lead just one minute later - in the meantime the Latvians had taken a timeout. During the last minute of play Minks goalie Lars Haugen left his net for an additional attacker but the result didn't change anymore. For Riga it was the 4th win in the last 8 games but they still are last in the Bobrov Division - though only three points behind Vityaz Chekhov.
