Easy win saves Finland’s spot in Malmö

Finland demolishes Germany 8-0 in the first game of the relegation round and secures a spot in the Elite group next year.
The game was scoreless for 16 minutes but Finland finally scored by Artturi Lehkonen, the only goal of the period despite 20-3 in shots on goal. Finland added two more goals in the second period and when the victory was certain they played out and added five goals in the third.
The Finnish stars lead their team and Ville Pokka and Aleksander Barkov both scored two goals. Markus Granlund had four points (1+3) and Joel Armia and Teuvo Teräväinen both scored three points it the 8-0 win. Finland outshot Germany 56-15.
The Finns are now safe in the relegation round while Germany will have to beat Latvia to avoid relegation. The relegation round continues tomorrow with Slovakia vs. Latvia, if Slovakia wins they will also be safe.
