Seventh win in a row for Skellefteå

Skellefteå beats Linköping 4-2 at home to win its seventh game in a row. Six of them in regulation. HV71 defeats Timrå to keep the lead of the Elitserien standings.

 
 
 
 
The top scorers George Holloway and Joakim Lindström  both scored 3 points (1+2) when Skellefteå beat Linköping 4-2 to win its seventh consecutive game. Skellefteå's Martin Lundberg opened the scoring and Linus Hultström tied it for Linköping in the seventh minute. A minute into the second period George Holloway made it 2-1 and ten minutes later Ryan Vesce scored 3-1. Linköping's top scorer Carl Söderberg closed the gap at 32:19. In the middle of the third period Joakim Lindström made it 4-2. After the last goal Skellefteå got a couple of penalties. Linköping even got to play 5-on-3 for twelve seconds but couldn't get another puck past Joacim Eriksson in Skellefteå's net.


Timrå took the lead twice against the league leader HV71, but it was HV71 who left E.ON Arena with three points. MArcus Nilsson was best in HV71 with two goals and an assist. HV71's goalie Gustaf Wesslau left the game with an injury after one period.


Färjestad's goalie Alexander Salak earned his league leading fifth shut-out of the season when they beat Luleå 4-0. Calle Andersson scored his first Elitserien goal for 1-0. Patrik Lundh, Per Åslund and Marius Holtet scored the other goals.


Nicklas Jensen scored the winner when AIK beat Brynäs 2-1 in the shoot-out. Brynäs got a 2-minute power play in the overtime period but couldn't score against Daniel Larsson in AIK's net. Broc Little scored 1-0 for AIK in the first period and Calle Järnkrok tied it in the second.


Rögle recovered from last round's 7-0 loss to Skellefteå by beating Växjö 3-1 on the road. Alexander Lindqvist-Hansen, Fredrik Warg and Ted Brithén score the goals. The only Slovenian player of Elitserien,Jan Urbas, scored for Växjö.


MODO had their first 3-point game in a month when Frölunda was beaten 2-0. Jonas Ahnelöv scored 1-0 at 37:01 and Mattias Ritola made it 2-0 ten minutes later. Bernhard Starkbaum in MODO's net saved 33 shots.
