Defending champions with a good start

The team of former NHL coach Marc Crawford starts the season with the right foot

Even if Zurich had finished the first period without goals, they did enough to go the lockeroom with two or three goals more then Langnau Tigers. Czech goalie Jaroslav Hübl offered a great resistance to Patrik Bärtschi and Thibaut Monnet.

Phillip Ritz with a bad decision in his defense had offered the first goal to Reto Schäppi after a great pass from Mark Bastl. The most difficult was done and three minutes later former NHL player Jeff Tambellini had no problem to score a second goal for Zurich after a great action from the rising star Luca Cunti. With the 2-0 the match was done in only 6 minutes of the second period. Not enough talent today by Langnau to create difficulties to a very solid ZSC Lions team.

For the stats, Swiss star Roman Wick had completed the score for Zurich. A goal that was a little bit easy. This time the goalie from Langnau could have done a much better job.  When the 7614 attending at Hallenstadion had thought that Lukas Flüeler would have the first shutout of the season Langnau's Sandro Moggi made the only goal for the Tigers.
