Just as yesterday few goals were score in Elitserien today. Frölunda won 2-1 at home to MoDo in a close game. MoDo almost tied the game in the last minute despite playing shorthanded. But Mika Pyörälä 2-1 goal at 37:13 stood as the game winner. Pyörälä's 13th goal this season, six of them against MoDo. Fredrik Pettersson scored the first goal and had two points just as Pyörälä and Olimb.
2-1 was also the score between Växjö and HV71. But Växjö needed a shootout to win. Anders Eriksson was the only on to score on ten shots. Växjö started the game best and Brad Moran gave them the lead seven minutes into the second period on a quick counter attack. HV71 took over the game but Martin Gerber played really good to keep Växjö in the lead but 5:50 into the third Andreas Falk found the net when he put his stick to Luoma's shot. HV71 played without Noah Welch who was suspended two games after a hit on Dick Axelsson in the game against MoDo.
Today also the third candidate for the rookie of the year award was announced. Luleå's goalie Johan Gustafsson is the third candidate. The World Junior champion joins Pontus Åberg and Johan Larsson on the list of candidates.
