With three games on Tuesday the KHL season resumed after New Year break.
Yugra 5-4 Ak Bars
Home team got a quick lead in the game when Alexei Simakov used a pass from ex-Ak Bars player Stanislav Bocharov. Minute later Kirill Petrov tied the game with tip-in goal after a nice pass from Alexei Tereshchenko. Soon Igor Yemeleyev sent Ak Bars goalie Emil Garipov to the bench with the second Yugra goal of the day.
Early in the second Danis Zaripov again tied the game at 20:22, but 19 seconds later Magogin returned his team a one-goal lead. Artyom Bulyansky increased his team lead with a pass from Tomas Starosta. Ak Bars managed to cut 2-goal deficit in the end of the second. Firstly Danis Zaripov made a double in power-play and Konstantin Korneyev with 1 seconds to left in the period tie the game. Yemeleyev closed the game with 5-4 score in favour of Yugra with a wrist shot at 48:46.

Severstal 4-1 Vityaz
Severstal dominated the game from the first minute. Early in the first Ondrej Nemec used a pass from Alexei Tsvetkov to get his team a one-goal lead. Staffan Kronwall's mistake in power-play helped Vityaz to tie the game, Andrei Posnov with a breakaway goal at 9:00.
Danila Alistratov was a real hero of the game before the middle of the third to this time he stopped about 40 shots! During 2-minute span Severstal earned a two-goal lead with Andrei Sidyakin and Yevgeny Mons goals. The best scorer of home team Vadim Shipachyov closed the game at 59:07. Alistratov stopped 54 shots but it wasn't enough to help his team, his opponent Vadim Tarasov faced only 16 shots and only conceded one.
"The team played today without character. Three rest days for players is so much, that's why we can't do better today," Vityaz head coach Andrei Nazarov said Severstal official site.
Lev 2-3 (SO) Spartak
Two outsiders of the West faced in Poprad. Yegor Mikhailov opened the scoring with a high wrist shot from the neutral zone at 02:56. Lev had a game possesion most of the time and outshot Spartak 31-15. But a rare Spartak attack lead to a second goal when four-on-four Lyuduchin dished a pass to Andre Benoit who made it 0-2.
In the third Rastislav Spirko cut Spartak lead with being lonely on the rebound after Jaroslav Kristek shot. A rude mistake in Spartak power-play lead to the game tying. Lubos Bartecko fed up a pass behind the net to Jaroslav Kristek which one-timer tied the game at 46:07. One of the two Spartak Slovaks Stefan Ruzicka gave HC Lev a chance to win in regalations with 2-minute penalty gaining in enemy zone. Lev has the worst statistics on power-play in the league and failed to score again.
The overtime didn't see much action and the teams played a shootout series against eachother for the second time this season. First time HC Lev won 2-0 with Duba's two stops and goals from Juraj Mikus and Jiri Sekac. Again away team won 2-0 in shootout with Stefan Ruzicka and Alexander Yunkov goals and again away team won in the third game between Spartak and HC Lev with score 2-3.
