Game recap

Dundee begin their three-in-three road weekend with an emphatic win over local rivals Glasgow.

After a scoreless opening 10 minutes or so, the Stars took control of the game with three goals in just under eight minutes. Lukas Lundvald hit the opening at 10:27, coming in with a wicked shot from the slot that gave Rumpel very little chance. A little over three minutes later the visitors doubled their advantage on the powerplay, Matt Marquardt squeezing the puck in at the near post for 2-0. Before the period was over the Stars went into three-goal lead, Matt Bisonnette the scorer with 1:43 on the clock to round off a perfect opening 20 minutes for Omar Pacha’s team.

That lead became 4-0 7:36 into period two as Nielsen struck again, and although Brendan Connolly got the Clan on the board at 32:05 it was as good as the game would get for the hosts. Lundvald completed his hat-trick with 51:32 played as the Stars’ “must win” game ended in the best possible way for them.

The Clan don’t play next until Sunday, by which point they could have slipped to fourth depending on other results.
