Played since 1997, the IIHF Continental Cup the tournament will not be played in 2020-2021 season, as confirmed by IIHF President Renè Fasel to Russian news agency TASS.

About the other clubs' competition, the Champions League, 12% of whose shares belong to IIHF, Fasel admits the possibility of cancel or modify also this tournament:
"The tournament board decided to play in October, we need to wait for what the situation will be. We will see how this is possible, given the complexity and limitations" Fasel said.
