Belfast Giants (EIHL) who currently occupy 5th place have made changes to improve their roster.
It was one in and two out for Belfast Giants this week as David Goodwin joined from Mora IK and they released defenceman Jesse Forsberg and forward Jean Dupuy.
Goodwin, is a 5’10” American who played four seasons with the Penn State University program and captained the team throughout his final year in 2016/17. Goodwin left the program as the career scoring leader with 44 goals and 84 assists, good for 128 points in 147 games played.
Also in his final year, Goodwin helped Penn State win the Big Ten tournament title and a first-round NCAA playoff game against Union before falling to Denver in the regional finals.
Goodwin moved to Europe following graduation and joined SaiPa of the Finnish Elite League. He spent the previous two seasons in Finland and helped SaiPa to the playoffs both seasons – posting 25 goals and 36 assists, good for 61 points in 130 games played.
Jesse Forsberg joined the Giants this season from the University of Saskatchewan. The 25 year old defenceman posted one goal and four assists in 12 games played during the 2019/20 season.
Jean Dupuy, forward, arrived in Belfast from the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears last Summer. In the 2019/20 season to date – the 25 year old posted four goals and three assists in 26 games played.
