A 7-2 victory over the United States on Saturday evening secured a perfect record at the 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel, giving Canada their second straight gold medal at the tournament.
The two-week long event was completely dominated by Canada from start to finish, sans a 3-2 overtime decision to start the tournament. Canada then went on a tear after the opener, scoring 51 goals while allowing just nine in five games of action.
The Americans were strong in their own right, with a 12-3 win over Russia, 7-0 defeat of Israel and a 18-0 crushing of Germany putting them in the gold medal game.
On Friday, Russia beat Israel 7-4 to secure the bronze medal. It was a tough tournament for Russia, who had two wins leading up to the third place game, including a 27-1 decision over Germany.
Germany, meanwhile, had a forgettable tournament. In just their first attempt at the Maccabiah, Germany allowed 81 goals in just four games, with their 16-6 loss to Israel proving to be their best game.
